PAWS rescues and vets pets regularly in addition to expanding and partnering with other community organizations. PAWS partners with Carteret County Emergency Management to provide and maintain a pet-friendly hurricane shelter for Carteret County. PAWS has partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Coastal Carolina, and offers free fun and educational pet care clinics throughout the year including a free canine heartworm clinic, a free FeLV clinic, and a reduced rate microchip clinic.  Annually, PAWS hosts the PAWS Pets Expo event at the Crystal Coast Civic Center, and participates as Pets for Vets in the Morehead City Veteran's Day parade, is a sponsor of the 911 Memorial with Morehead City Elks, and also the PAWS Pet House Challenge during the Coastal Home & Garden Show, along with various quarterly fundraising events.
