April 22, 2017: Jasper QuartetThe American Music Festival is a non-profit chamber music series featuring concerts performed from September through April. Performers scheduled for the 2016-2017 season include the Zora Quartet (September 24, 2016), the Kontras Quartet, (November 5 2016), Amit Peled playing a Cello Hommage to Pablo Casals (January 28, 2017), the Horszowski Piano Trio (February 18, 2017), and the Jasper Quartet (April 22, 2017). The series is supported by subscription ticket purchase, grants, donations and donor sponsorships and is managed by a volunteer board of directors. Donations to the fund further promote music with an educational outreach program that takes the gifted musicians into area schools. Past concerts included world-class performances by musicians of the Alexander Quartet, Nicholas Duchamp, Carolina Piano Trio and Daedalus Quartet. Series subscriptions for five concerts start at $120. Individual performance tickets are $30 for an adult and $15 for active military, teachers, and students. Performances take place on Saturdays at 8 PM at The History Museum of Carteret County in Morehead City.
